Affiliated Programs

In support of learning in the community, the School of Interdisciplinary Studies offers a variety of affiliated programs to help prepare students for college, to provide employment for enrolled students, and to support research on educational issues.

Below is a list of research projects supported by The School of Interdisciplinary Studies :

  1. Greenville ISD/UTD Partnership for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. Investigates the educational modifications that facilitate educational success for students who are homeless.  Project Director: George W. Fair
  2. McKinney ISD/UTD Partnership for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth.  Investigates the educational modifications that facilitate educational success for students who are homeless.  Project Director: George W. Fair
  3. Sherman ISD/UTD Partnership for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth.  Investigates the educational modifications that facilitate educational success for students who are homeless.  Project Director: George W. Fair
  4. Rainbow Days/UTD Kids University.  Investigates summer activities that provide educational enrichment for elementary and middle school students who reside in shelters for homeless persons.  Project Director: George W. Fair
  5. Richardson ISD/UTD AVID Project.  Investigates the use of college tutors in the academic acceleration of middle and high school students.  Project Director:  George W. Fair
