Trip to Europe
Will be visiting my family and friends in Czech for Christmas break. On the way, plan to stop in Berlin, Germany and Wien, Austria for a couple of days. Returning back to Dallas on Jan 5. 11-11-2009
IEEE ICVES'09 (Pune, India)
Paper on in-vehicle dialog systems' assessment presented at the IEEE International Conference in Vehicular Electronics and Safety (ICVES'09) in Pune, India by an over-competent presenter:-)09-06-2009
Interspeech'09 (Brighton, UK)
Paper on CRSS' latest advancements in Lombard effect ASR. Also presented a colleague's paper on whispered speaker ID using TRAP's - cool stuff. Met a lot of old colleagues/friends and made some new ones (the latter). Visited London and stopped home for a while on the way.

About Me
I was born in Most, Czech Republic. I received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and information technology at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. In August 2007, I joined the Center for Robust Speech Systems (CRSS), Eric Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Texas at Dallas, where I currently work as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. I serve as an external reviewer for the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA), the EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing, IEEE International Conferences on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP), and IEEE Workshops on Automatic Speech Recognition and Understanding (ASRU).
