My name is Jun Ru, a Ph.D. Candidate in Operations Management. I am under the supervision of Dr. Suresh P. Sethi and Dr. Jun Zhang, expected to graduate in Summer 2010, and currently seeking an academic position.
My current research investigates the impacts of operations and marketing decisions on supply chain performance. Specifically, I am interested in studying new business practices in the retail industry. In addition to the research, I am interested in teaching a variety of courses in the fields such as operations management, decision science. I have dedicated myself to educating students the value of scientific decision making and critical thinking so that they can lead the business to the success in the near future.
Prior to my doctorate study, I have worked in multiple functional areas in the industry, ranging from manufacturing to marketing to consulting. I also obtained the master degrees in England and in United States, respectively. Such diverse experience has given me the deep appreciation for connecting the teaching with industry application.
